When you know its not true!
If she has to tend to the kids and house then fine, but there is no other excuse for her not to go. Where in Islam does it say she doesn’t have to go?
I have no resources to find the Hadith but it is well known Hadith and most muslims know that Prophet Mohammad SAW said that women do not have to go to Masjid like men do and still Allah will reward them for praying in their home equal to what reward Allah gives men to go to Masjid for praying. I believe this statements of Rasoolallah is based on the fact that women have plenty of work and responsibility of taking care of house and children. If she has to go to Masjid for every Salat, she won’t be able to take care of many things of her house.
Secondly if a woman has real small children, they cry in Masjid for mother for many reasons and their cries disrupt the concentration of other believers in their prayers in Masjid.
Prophet also said one time that for women best place is their home though he never forbid women from coming to Masjid. Some scholars believe Prophet said so because early years in Madina Muslims were yet small minority and not so strong. Hypocrites and Jews used to molest Muslim women in streets being new in town. Under the circumstances, it was best for Muslim women for the time being to stay home. May be this was the wisdom of Prophet SAW behind making the staement that home is the best place for women.
Today every family has more than one cars in USA. if we fear of some problem and need protection of Police, we call 911 and police car is there within few minutes. I can’t say this for my back home country unfortunately. There even today women can be molested in the way to Masjid. That is why we don’t see women coming into Masajids. Also Molvees are very close minded and they do not provide facility of separate room for women to come to pray in Masjid. I am not against women going to Masajids. I have taken my wife, daughters and sons in masajids in which ever city I have lived in USA for last 39 years.
