How can Islam be the peacemaker of the world when Muslims fight one another?

I’ve seen lot of muslims who claim that the Islam is about to convert the mankind and the world will be peaceful as if it were a utopia. But how would it work when we see so many Islamic countries and organizations fighting each other all the time?
And no matter how good messages the Islam teach, what is the point of it if they aren’t to be practiced?

Good question

Islam, the religion of peace, and Terrorism

IF Islam is meant to be a peaceful religion then why do fanatics kill innocent people in the name of Islam?

Seriously, I hear people saying Islam is such a peaceful and tolerant religion but then look what happens 9/11 in New York and then 7/7 in London. I know the fanatics are sick in the head but they seem to be read versus from the Koran that state to kill non believers. Is this true?
Contradictory or what? Please read two versus from the koran:

It is self-evident that some Koranic verses encourage violence. Consider for example a verse which implies that fighting is “good for you”: “Fighting is prescribed upon you, and you dislike it. But it may happen that you dislike a thing which is good for you, and it may happen that you love a thing which is bad for you. And Allah knows and you know not.” (2:216)

On the other hand, it is equally clear that there are peaceful verses as well: “Invite (all) to the way of your Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious.” (16:125)

First off there are no "fanatics" in Islam. Every Muslim is called to serve their allah in their own way. Those often referred to as "fanatics" or "terrorists" are actually the highly revered and honored mujahideen mentioned in the Qur’an. The only time they are spoken poorly of is when addressing the media and public in kafir countries where it is to the advantage of minority muslims to keep a low profile and promote the concept that the Islam is a religion of peace. Behind the scenes though, they are never questioned because it is believed that they receive special enlightenment from their allah.

Obviously the choice would be to convince the masses to submit to Islam without putting up a fight but in cases where that has been found impossible it is the purpose of the mujahid to instill the fear of their allah in the hearts of those who refuse even the role of dhimmi to the dictatorial authority of Islam.

Evidence of this is found in the fact that there are currently 26 religious wars/conflicts taking place in the world today and 23 of them are being fought by the mujahideen, or armies of Islam.

This is also the reason for all the conflicts in Israel. In order for Islam to become the only recognized religion in the world, the Holy Land of the Jews, which is acknowledged by most of the world, must first be completely dissolved, all evidence of Judaism and Christianity removed and replaced with Islam.

To those who claim that the Crusades were no better, the Crusades were initially fought as a defensive war against the very mujahideen I mentioned above. Please do your research. It wasn’t until much later when secular kings became involved that they turned to something other than defensive wars. If they had not been fought, pretty much everyone posting here would be kneeling to the Muslim allah 5 times a day, today.

How is peace expressed in sacred texts of Islam?

How is the understanding of peace is expressed through sacred texts in Islam.

The title of the thesis is “Peace in Quran” . The thesis is based upon examining the word “Peace” and its derivatives which are mentioned in the Quran. It is related to the first pattern of the (objective interpretation) which is concerned with the study of a word which is repeated many times in the holy Quran , and that is by compiling the verses in which that word and its derivatives are mentioned, then interpreting them, deducing their meanings and uses in the Quran and relating their meanings in various topics if possible.

The real meaning of the word “peace” in Arabic involves disowning , riddance, salvation, recovery and recuperation from evil, imperfection, and diseases whether apparent or hidden, perceptible or incorporeal.

The word peace and its derivatives are mentioned in (132) passages in the Quran. Studying their meanings in the Quran, I found out that they do not depart from their meaning, and that all the mentioned conjugations and derivatives of the word in the Quran refer to one meaning, and that is: freedom from apparent or hidden diseases and deformities.

Islam makes peace first in the mind of the individual, then in the family, the community and finally in the international field among nations and peoples. Islam seeks peace in the relationship between the individual and his lord, the individual and his soul, and the individual and community. Then it seeks peace in the relationship between a sect and other sects, the individuals and the government, and after these steps, it seeks peace in the relationship of a country with other countries. Islam takes a long road in order to achieve that last objective through the peace of mind, the peace of home, the peace of the community and at the end, the peace of the world.

That is peace in the Quran. It is a comprehensive and an intergraded idea. Islam is the religion of peace: peace in its name, peace in its name, peace in its greetings, peace in the night of the revelation of the Quran, peace in the name the Lord, peace in the creed, peace in its relations with the followers of other religions, peace and performance of good deeds in the private life requirements, peace and righteousness between those who adopt its principles on the one hand and other people on the other as long as they do not fight Moslems for their faith, drive them out of their homes, attack them or confront them, but if they do so, Islam will be only then a war against injustice and aggression, and that is also in the cause of Allah (God) Almighty. Islam is also peace in governance and justice in deciding the right between the Arabs and non – Arabs and between Moslems and non Moslems. In short:

Islam pure peace

One of the greatest means of achieving peace is review the biography of Prophet Mohammad (May Allah bless him and grant him salvation) who is doubtlessly the Messenger of peace, security and safety. He is the living image of application of all concepts of peace to the individual, the family and the community, and peace with non – Moslems.

Did those stereotypes and tainted words about islam really work?

Rationally speaking, What did the islamophobics achieve by all the media stereotypes to taint muslims and their religion?
Did they really achieve anything out of it?

The truth speaks for itself and the statistics say that more people are actually converting to Islam. There are smart people who believe in themselves, not in what others judge.

Politics and Popular Opinion is a powerful tool. Even if we decide, decades down the line, that Islam is a religion of peace (which I believe it is), Islamophobes have done the damage and planted seeds of hatred and intolerance for generations to come. From now on there will always be a fringe group or two that hates muslims, like the Orange Order against Catholics.
