Why is islam the fastest growing religion in the world?

Ok many of my young friends are converting. This is a fact that islam is the fastest growing religion and it is obviously not forced upon because I live in Australia and many of my mates are converting, why?

Because they know that Islam is the truthRead this well.
Every Religion Claims That It Is The Truth – The Criteria Of The Truth
There are so many sects, cults, religions, philosophies, and movements in the world, all of which claim to be the right way or the only true path to Allah (God). How can one determine which one is correct or if, in fact, all are correct? The method by which the answer can be found is to clear away the superficial differences in the teachings of the various claimants to the ultimate truth, and identify the central object of worship to which they call, directly or indirectly. False religions all have in common one basic concept with regards to Allah. They either claim that all men are gods or that specific men were Allah or that nature is Allah or that Allah is a figment of man’s imagination.
Thus, it may be stated that the basic message of false religion is that Allah may be worshipped in the form of His creation. False religion invites man to the worship of creation by calling the creation or some aspect of it God. For example, prophet Jesus invited his followers to worship Allah but those who claim to be his followers today call
people to worship Jesus, claiming that he was Allah!
Buddha was a reformer who introduced a number of humanistic principles to the religion of India. He did not claim to be God nor did he suggest to his followers that he be an object of worship. Yet, today most Buddhists who are to be found outside of India have taken him
to be God and prostrate to idols made in their perception of his likeness.
By using the principle of identifying the object of worship, false religion becomes very obvious and the contrived nature of their origin clear. As God said in the Our’aan:
" That which you worship besides Him are only names you and your forefathers have invented for which Allah has sent down no authority: The command belongs only to Allah:
He has commanded that you only worship Him; that is the right religion, but most men do not understand ".(Soorah Yoosuf 12:40)
It may be argued that all religions teach good things so why should it matter which one we follow. The reply is that all false religions teach the greatest evil, the worship of creation. Creation-worship is the greatest sin that man can commit because it contradicts the very purpose of his creation. Man was created to worship Allah alone as Allah has explicitly stated in the Qur’an:
" I have only created Jinns and men, that they may worship me "
(Soorah Zaareeyaat 51:56)Consequently, the worship of creation, which is the essence of idolatry, is the only unforgivable sin. One who dies in this state of idolatry has sealed his fate in the next life. This is not an opinion, but a revealed fact stated by Allah in his final revelation to man.
The following criteria can best serve as a gauge to find out the
authenticity of the last revelation (the Qur’an) as words of God:
1. Rational Teachings: Since our Creator bestowed reason and
intellect upon us, it is our duty to use it to distinguish the TRUTH from falsehood. True, undistorted revelation from God must be rational and can be reasoned out by all unbiased minds.
2. Perfection: Since our Creator is all perfect, His revelation must be perfect and accurate, free from mistakes, omissions, interpolations and multiplicity of versions. It should be free from contradictions in its narration.
3. No Myths or Superstitions: True revelation is free from myths or
superstitions that degrade the dignity of our Creator or man himself.
4. Scientific: Since our Creator is the Creator of all knowledge, true revelation is scientific and can withstand the challenge of science at all times.
5. Factual Prophecy: Our Creator is the Knower of the past, present and future. Thus His prophecies in His revelation will be fulfilled as prophesied.
6. Inimitable By Man: True revelation is infallible and cannot be imitated by man. God’s true revelation is a Living miracle, an open book challenging all mankind to see and prove for themselves its authenticity or veracity.

Is Islam a religion or is it a cultural and political movement?

I have been reading "Islam for Dummies", and on page 15 it says, "Islam isn’t just a religion of individuals bound together for spiritual pursuits and guidance. Instead, Islam attempts to organize all aspects of human society." The United States constitution guarantees freedom of religion but forbids the establishment of religion. Islam, it seems, can only be fully realized if it is the established religion. Can Muslims live happily and successfully in a state which denies full expression of their religion?

The book is kind of right.
Islam really is ‘a complete way of life.’
The definition of Islam means submission to the will of Allah(by the way, Allah is really just the Arabic word for the one true God. Just that in Arabic, the word ”Allah” has no plural or gender, so that’s why we use it. In Islam, polytheism or attributing partners to Allah is the WORST sin, it’s Unforgivable, unless if you’ve just converted to Islam[which would erase all your previous sins])
—>back to the question…
Yeah, so in Islam, there is like a way to do practically anything. From putting on your shoes, to praying at the right times, and even cutting your nails…
But you also need to know that us Muslims are commanded to follow a middle path. Like, not asceticism, but also not too engrossed in this world and life. So we know that we aren’t expected to do EVERY SINGLE thing in the religion. We just do what we can, to the best of our ability.

For example, I live in the West, in a non-Islamic country, but I still wear hijab and pray. My religion doesn’t block me from many things.

However, if I lived in an Islamic country, there would be no banks that deal with interest(which is forbidden for us), or I wouldn’t have to deal with finding out if what I want to eat is haram or halal. Living in an Islamic state would make things easier, but it’s not impossible to live in a non-Islamic state and still follow your religion.

We do what we can, the best we can.

I hope I helped you.
And thank you for actually taking the time to learn about our religion in a time when the only thing people hear is "muslims are bad!" or "Terrorists!" or any of the other misconceptions about our religion.
Once again, I hope I helped you.
Have a good day/night!

Lol Why do Christians think that Islam is a religion for terrorists?

There is 2 groups in Islam that are terrorists the Al Quida and the Taliban.
These groups are very small compared to the majority of Islam.
I think you guys should actually look into a religion before posting something ignorant like,
"Muslims will bomb you" or "All Muslims are terrorists" That’s quite messed up.
Now if your not sure about anything i can teach it to you.

Not all muslims are terrorists but all terrorists are Muslim .

What a joke.

What about the terrorists in Ireland just a few decades ago .
The Tamil Tigers ?
The KKK with what they done to black people .
There are plenty of radical Christians (Westbro) & radical Jews just waiting for their chance.

No I do not blame Islam for terrorism .

I do not need you or anyone else to teach me , I have found the truth.

freedom of religion to orthodox christians who was oppressed by the catholic romans

muslims helped christians to reconstruct their churches

the majority of egyptians (pagans and christians) become muslims

the romans taxes was removed and was replaced by zakah (paid by muslims) which is paid to the
poor and needy muslims and non muslims!! and gizieah (paid by non muslims and much less than the zakah) paid for protection . old, priests, women, children, poor non-muslims was excluded from gizieah . also if any non muslim choosed to join the army he would had been excluded from gizieah

you can simply say islam changes egypt from being coptic to being islamic

How is Islam the fastest growing religion in the west?

There all kind of people coming to Islam. There is some that even converts it huge masses ( 20+ people). It’s the fastest growing religion in the UK and USA. Just visit you tube. How is that a religion that is put down in the media constantly is the most popular choice today?

Cite your sources for your claims….and no, Youtube is not a source.

The last time I checked the data underlying the "fastest growing" claim, the source was from the 1990s – way out of date. At that time, most studies cited a higher birthrate among muslims for the growth rate of Islam, not conversion.

The last time I saw any population data about Islam, it was from the UN and indicated that the Muslim birthrate has slowed considerably, especially in the west, where the birthrate in established (not new immigrant) communities slows over time, until it nearly matches the birthrate of the native population.

@Muslimgirl, did you really just say that the Bible is not written in a language, but was written in English by Greeks?
Wow.

How did the start of Islam affect arab merchants?

I’m doing my history homework, and I would like to know how the Beginning of Islam/Muslim religion affected merchants in the Middle East at the time?

Well, many merchants also converted to Islam and so they started practicing more Islamic ways of business and trade. Whether or not they turned Muslim though, they were able to spread Islam over very long distances and that’s how it initially reached places outside of Arabia, even places where muslims didn’t conquer like South East Asia.

I hope that answered your question.
