Heralds Of The Dawn, Explorers Of The Light

All over the world, human beings seek the truth about the meaning of life. They do this in different ways but it is the spirit of their search which determines the quality of their findings. There are many degrees and variations of those who seek truth, a unusual brand of human beings who seek to understand the meaning of life on a fundamental level. These groups, for the most part, fall into two classes, science and religion. (And those who seek to interpret and present the meanings of these two groups are the artists.)

Many religions have two branches. There is the exoteric branch, where the basic ideas and the story of its founders and the various histories are recorded. Here too is the big book, the manual, that describes how to follow its teachings. The new comer is fascinated by it, believing it to be the book of truth, where the mystery of all creation is finally unveiled. The veteran either accepts the big book as it is or makes a few fresh interpretations. Those who belong to the exoteric group are large in number.

But many long-established religions also have a secret branch, where the interpretation is wholly different, more insightful, and often informed by experiences of personal revelation. This is the esoteric branch. This group is seldom organized. If it is, then you can only join through a personal invitation. The qualifications to join are not clear and what you may learn may be startlingly different from what is taught in the main religion. This group is often secretive because the main branch may often consider the new ideas heresy. As you can imagine, the members of this group are few in number.

In Judaism, the esoteric branch were the Essenes. In Christianity, the esoteric branch were the Gnostics. And in Islam, the esoteric branch were the Sufis. Those who belonged to the esoteric branch were called mystics. Whether these groups still exist today, of course, is a whole other discussion. Besides these groups, there have been many other schools of mysticism.

In the 20th century, as both knowledge and communication technology expanded exponentially many ancient secrets were revealed. Out of this, a new brand of mysticism has unfolded, some may have their roots in earlier traditions, but others have many roots and can be considered eclectic. In fact, one can even be a lone mystic without relation to any group at all.

The essential difference between these two groups is the level of revelation. Both groups may have high levels of erudition and faith, both may believe that they have a firm grip on the truth, but the dividing line is that the mystic has an unworldly sense of awe and wonder, which may be due to spiritual experiences that made the knowledge more intimate and more alive.

While all scientists are in a quest for the truth, Physics is the specialized group that seeks to understand the whole universe.

Similarly, in Physics, too, I believe there is an exoteric and an esoteric branch. Everyone may know the same thing in both branches, but the level of intimacy with the knowledge is different.

Technicians are the large group. They know the mathematics, understand the formulas, and can present a decent exposition of the ideas.

The mystics of Physics, however, are harder to define. They have a different attitude and “feel” for Physics.

Perhaps an example might make it more clear. You will see at once that this type of person views Physics as a multi-dimensional experience.

“Physical concepts are free creations of the human mind, and are not, however it may seem, uniquely determined by the external world. In our endeavor to understand reality we are somewhat like a man trying to understand the mechanism of a closed watch. He sees the face and the moving hands, even hears it ticking, but has no way of opening the case. If he is ingenious he may form some picture of a mechanism which could be responsible for all the things he observes, but he may never be quite sure his picture is the only one which could explain his observations. He will never be able to compare his picture with the real mechanism and he cannot even imagine the possibility of the meaning of such a comparison.”

The mystic? Albert Einstein. (The Evolution of Physics, p. 31).

In Physics today, the masters are in pursuit of essence. They seek the essence of quantum mechanics, quantum logic, special relativity, general relativity, and some new directions that Physics is currently moving in.

I compare Physicists to mystics because they have much in common.

One, they both share the same quest: understanding the meaning of everything; coming up with a brief history of everything by examining the underlying principles or laws that govern the universe.

Two, many of their findings are remarkably similar. I’ll give a really quick example. The lay person, informed by commonsensical observation, may believe that there is only one spatiotemporal dimension. The religious person may believe that there is at least a heaven and an earth (although some may factor in a few more dimensions referred to as purgatory and hell). But both mystics and physicists believe that there may be many dimensions. Mystics hold as many as 7 or more dimensions, while physicists hold as may as 11 or more (a new branch known as String Theory).

Three, both physicists and mystics, appear to gather their understanding from more than observation and experimentation; they develop insight. In-sight. They literally look within. For example, Albert Einstein would sit in silence, holding two rocks in either hand and slip into a state of deep relaxation, a Theta-level of consciousness, where he could then visualize his thought experiments more clearly. When he slipped into Delta, the brainwave state of sleep, he would wake himself up by dropping a rock. Mystics use a similar device, referred to as meditation or contemplation. They both understand that at the beta level of consciousness, the brainwaves of everyday waking consciousness, you pretty much have the same level of thoughts, and that to really understand anything, you need to drop to Alpha or, if you can, into Theta.

Ultimately, it is our appreciation for novelty that determines our capacity to open new fields of knowledge from the appearance of things. Those who wed a sense of awe and wonder with inquiry are those who discover the secrets of life. It does not matter to which group, if any, you belong to in your quest for the truth about the meaning of life, what matters most is the spirit of your quest. Your spirit and sense of adventure will inform the depths of your experiences and give you startling conclusions. In a world where most people are in a coma of habituated thought, it is remarkably refreshing to look upon everything with the eyes of a child; over time, with sufficient inquiry, this process then results in the evolution of the mind of a sage.

Choosing Islam – Converts Tell Their Stories 1/3

Filed under: Islam — Tags: Allah, bible, Christian, Christianity, Israel, jehovas, Jew, Jihad, Koran, muhamamd, revert, sharia, terrorist, trinity, USA, Witness — admin @ 12:08 pm

These are inspiring personal stories of Americans choosing Islam. Let this video help you rekindle the faith in your heart!

Their stories are amazing and different, but their ultimate destination is the same: Islam. Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world and America is no exception to this phenomena. This video helps to demystify this amazing trend.

This is a collection of interviews with Americans of different racial, ethnic and religious backgrounds who explain why they have chosen to become Muslim, embracing the faith of over 1 billion humans worldwide.

Some of these people are:

Rafael Narbaez a former pastor with the Jehovah’s Witnesses. Narbaez was born and raised in Texas and he is from a Hispanic family. While he grew up as a Catholic he later became a Jehovah’s Witness. Initially, he started reading the Quran to get a better understanding of the Bible, but instead, it helped him understand Islam. He later embraced the faith.

Dr. Muhammad Eckhaus was born in New York to a Jewish family. He was impressed by the generosity and humility of muslims, which brought him closer to Islam and finally he accepted the faith.

Yusuf Islam, the former Cat Stevens was a world famous rock star in the 1970s. Islam was from a Greek Orthodox family and experimented with many different religions seeking inner peace. One day, he received a copy of the Quran as a birthday gift from his brother David. After reading the Quran, Islam decided to leave his life in the entertainment industry for life as a Muslim, since it was this faith which gave him the inner peace he was seeking.

Br. Omar Abdur Rahman, a lawyer, first read the highly controversial anti-Islamic book Satanic Verses. Then, he decided to read the Quran to get the other side of the story. He eventually became a Muslim.

Sister Aisha Mustafa is editor of Chicago-based newspaper The Muslim Journal. She compared different religions and then decided that Islam was the only choice for her.

“Choosing Islam: one man’s story” was an article written by Abdal Hayy Moore, a convert to Islam, a writer and a poet. He managed a theater company in California when he was introduced to Islam. His article got published in several publications. Moore says that one day a person came to him and told him that he had accepted Islam after reading Moore’s article.

This video also features some historical footage of Imam W. D. Muhammad and Malcolm Shabazz or popularly known as Malcolm X. After performing Hajj, Malcolm realized that Islam is a universal religion and it is only Islam, which can solve the race problem in America.

This is an excellent Dawa tool. Hearing the experiences of those who have chosen Islam as their way of life as Americans on this continent is sure to pique the curiosity of others who still see Islam as a “foreign” faith.

[6:108] Do not curse the idols they set up beside GOD, lest they blaspheme and curse GOD, out of ignorance.

Muslims are growing and Christians are shrinking, does this mean the Muslims are on the right path?

Filed under: muslims — Tags: bible, Christianity, Christians, God, Islam, Koran, muslims, Truth, Ww — admin @ 4:56 am

I’ve been on a search for God and I’ve been looking into both Christianity and muslims beliefs. Though Christianity is much bigger right now, they are in fact, dying off. This isn’t the case with Islam. They’re much stronger growing and seem to be much more loyal to their beliefs. Should I be looking towards the Koran for truth, rather than the Bible? Please advise.

no ww arent…Christians have the most!!!!!!!!!

ISLAM?????????????????????????????????????????????????

So, I read the Quran. I read the story of Muhammad. Now, I could be very wrong and stupid to perceive what I did the way I did.(feel free to call me wrong and stupid.) But What I read basically said that Muhammad was a rich and powerful young man who traveled a lot. He was very fond of Christianity and Judaism. He was a follower of both religions. One day he comes scurrying out the woods saying an angel of God told him a new prophecy that rules Jesus out as the Son of Man. No miracles, no proof. Just the advantage of his majesty that if you don’t believe this you will be stoned to death or beheaded. (That still works today in the middle east). I don’t think he way lying about the angel telling him the prophecy, only I don’t believe It was an angel sent by God. Please tell me what I’m missing.
I know how honest Muhammad was. That’s why I said I don’t believe he was lying about the prophecy. Only I think he was manipulated by an angel of the darkness. He actually died a Christian, little do people know.
I highly doubt if Muhammad would have made people slaves only to gain power. He was only doing what he was believed to be right. If "God" or an "angel" actually spoke to me or you (before we knew about schizophrenia) we would have most likely believed it to be true.
I said I read the Quran. I didn’t say I got my facts from it. The prophet Muhammad is a historical figure.
I didn’t say I don’t believe it because it goes against my religion. I didn’t even say I had a religion. I wasn’t being literal when I said "woods". And the prophecy DID SO say that men where to be slaves. So interested? READ CAREFULLY.
And Muhammad was a rich 12 year old.

Tell Satan I said *u*k you.

The Prophet Muhammad, Peace and Blessings be upon Him, was not rich and powerful as you claim. Rather the Tribe He was from are powerful and a prominent Tribe. They are called the Quraysh.

You probably got confused somewhere. His first wife, Lady Khadija (May God raise her exalted rank) was a wealthy business woman and had a high status among the people. She hired the Prophet to work for her in doing trades. Usually the "rich and powerful" dont need to work and make money.

And He was never fond of christianity or judaism. You probably meant that He was fond of Prophets Moses and Jesus (peace and blessings be upon them). All Prophets taught Islam. All of their beliefs were the same but some of their rules differed slightly. The Law of the most recent Messenger is the only valid one to follow. Each time a Messenger came with a new Book or Law, then that Law abrogates the Previous Laws or Books.

The Prophet Muhammad was Muslim all His life. He did not follow 2 religions. How can someone follow 2 religions? Seriously, that would not make sense. People back then used to worship idols like statues, Jesus, rocks, sun, moon, stars, etc. but the all the Prophets rejected these fake "gods" and all the Prophets throughout their whole lives believed in God, Who is One without a Partner, The Eternal and Everlasting, the Creator of everything, Who is not similar or like any of His creations. They never had doubt in this.

Muhammad was 40 years old when He first recieved revelations. He is known to be illiterate. Majority of the people of that time and place were illiterate.

The Angel Gabriel was a Messenger to the Messengers. His duty is to convey the Messege to the Prophets. The Holy Qur’an was revealed in parts and not all at once. The Holy Qur’an is a miracle in itself. Of course it says Jesus is not the so – called son of man. It teaches the truth about Prophet Jesus. All the Prophets taught that God is not a man, a light, a spirit or anything created. He is not comparable to His creations in any way. He exists without a place and is not bound by directions or time. He is not in the "7th heaven" as alot of people falsely claim. If that was so, then He would be a creature with a form or body and limitations and every creation has needs and is subject to change. God is clear of having these attributes and He is clear of any imperfection and weaknesses. The one who needs something is imperfect and the imperfect does not deserve to be worshipped.

The Prophet Muhammad had thousands of miracles. The Holy Qur’an was just one of them. The Prophet challenged the people to come up with at least one verse like it, just one verse and the people failed. Their were some people at the time who are masters of the language and poetry and they themselves failed. Some even become Muslim after seeing the beauty, the eloquence, language of the Qur’an. Information that was recently discovered in early parts of the 20th century were present in The Qur’an which was revealed in the 7th century. And He had many more miracles. All the Prophets had miracles to convince the people that they are Highly Righteous servants of God and take heed to their Messege.

You said :
" Just the advantage of his majesty that if you don’t believe this you will be stoned to death or beheaded. (That still works today in the middle east)."-
If that was true, there wouldnt have been jews or christians living amongst the muslims even when the Prophet was there. In fact, jews and christians had to flee spain which was christian ruled at the time. They were treated harsh and unjust. SO guess where they fled to?
The ottoman empire. Muslim ruled Ottoman empire.

Today the fastest growing religion in the World is Islam..spreading through the Sword of intellect and Wisdom .

http://www.islamicweb.com/begin/results.htm

in islam before we believe we have to get the Evidence of the religion to be committed without any doubt and to live contently.

muslims don`t look islam as a normal religion, but as a whole system of Life, which gives all answers about this life and hereafter.

many people don`t think how they came to this life and what is waiting them after death. they just do not want to think about their death although they must meet it…….

The followers of other religions have no decisive proof for their belief, therefore they believe in their religions emotionally or through imitation. Some of them think that you just have to have faith without clear proof. However when it comes to normal things in life people apply a lot of thought such as buying a car, house, choosing a University course or which bank to join, so how can it be that when it comes to the most important questions about life; which define the purpose of our lives that we should just have ‘faith’ without being convinced absolutely.

It is therefore vital for a Muslim to believe in the existence of Allah (swt) without any doubt whatsoever and to believe in the Prophethood of Muhammad (saw) and that the Qur’an is the final revelation sent by Allah (swt) to humanity. Islam is unlike all the other religions as it has a decisive proof that convinces the mind.
