The Wahhabis understood holy war or jihad to be according to Muhammad. This is in contrast to the Sufi Muslims who had interpreted jihad to be an internal holy war to strengthen one’s spiritual self.

This is how Muhammad described a holy war:
Muhammad instructed his followers to kill in the name of Alla, and encouraged them to plunder and divide the booty. (See Koran, Spoils of War, 8:41.) The booty included women and children. (Koran 33:50)

So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them; surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. The sacred months refers to the treaty with the non-Muslims, see Koran 9:4.

Muhammad’s followers plundered, exiled, enslaved, and beheaded non-Muslims.

After Muhammad died, the Muslims divided into two groups, the Sunnis and the Shiite.

The Wahhabis reasoned that the Shiites held the wrong views on the teachings of Muhammad. According to the Wahhabis, the Shiites are heretics. Therefore they reasoned, holy war should be directed against the Shiites. .

The Shiites not wanting to be massacred by the Sunnis fight back, and attack the Sunnis.

This is why the Islamic countries fight each other and have civil wars all the time. Also note that their are other groups that call themselves Muslims.

Islam also has peaceful teachings, but these are all lifted from the teachings of the Christians and Jews. It is believed he learned of these values from his learned, charitable, and wealthy first wife Khadijah ul-Kubra’. Khadijah lived in Mecca and befriended these groups and was impressed with monotheism.

Note: After Khadijah died, Muhammad left Mecca and went to Medina, and began his campaigns to convert by the sword.

so if there r discounts passed muslims ,, islam has nothing to this ,but this is shortening comes from some of us , we r not angels ,, we r humans do mistakes and good acts ,, we pass periods of weakness but it is very quickly expires letting the sun of islam and muslims rising ones again

so do not check the events of the past 100 years with the discounts and weaknesses occurred during it but look in the history of this nation from its beginning from about 1200 years and the prid and empowerment which were during it

and we r sure that the pride of islam and its glory will come back again , this is what ALLAH ALMIGHTY promised us with in the quran and what the prophet Muhammad peace be upon him promised us with in the hadeethses ( prophet’s sayings )

The Treaty of Hudaybiyyah is the best example I can cite. It could really be called a charter of human rights, for what it is. And it did take place, it stayed in place for a few years and was not violated by Muslims but by the Meccans – despite the fact that the conditions of the treaty were disadvantageous to Muslims. But peace was such a precious thing (Arabia had not known peace in over 200 years at the time of the treaty) that just having a treaty was a big achievement itself.

I am a cynic about utopia too, but I still think *most* of our problems are the kind that can go away if we nip them in the bud, as early as possible. Unfortunately that is not such a favourable thing under the current political system of the world. Politicians make money off the fact that the same problems keep coming back. And this won’t go away until the best of us are the leaders of us. But if Muslims keep expecting that ‘Islam’ is some thing out there with a power to changet he world, no, sorry, I am a Muslim and I definitely know that an excellent law written on paper is still an excellent law written on paper. Without the will of a human behind it, it can’t do much.

[Additional information:
Young Muslims and particularly new Muslims are making a lot of hange in the way everything thinks about Islam. Believe me, if you heard something positive about Islam, it probably came from a young Muslim (who has shed stupid cultural notions, and follows Islam by adopting only the harmless cultural notions from their native society) or from converts/reverts/new Muslims who are (ANYBODY will admit this) amazing in their faith and practice. They are so eager to learn, to listen, to show patience. Both of these are concentrated in the West (youth in the East haven’t yet shed their cultural notions, such as female circumcision which is *forbidden* in Islam). I have lived in both the East and the West, and I think any change that will come to Muslims in terms of their imperfect practice will come from the West’s Muslims.
