I’ve seen lot of muslims who claim that the Islam is about to convert the mankind and the world will be peaceful as if it were a utopia. But how would it work when we see so many Islamic countries and organizations fighting each other all the time?
And no matter how good messages the Islam teach, what is the point of it if they aren’t to be practiced?

Because anyone who fights and claims to be Islam is not practicing Islam. Same with olden Christians. It isn’t Christian to come to another country, kill them all, and take over their land. But they did it anyways. I have to say, being a Chrsitian, I’m not proud of it.
Is it Islam to kill anyone who isn’t, and to degrade women to nothing but slaves and sex objects? No. The Qu-ran (I’m not sure how to spell it) says that men and women are equal, and that fighting is in no way condoned.

Because the Muslims who fight with each other believe in only a part of the Quran and reject the other part of Quran. This is the best verse to prove this claim:

But again, you cant judge a book or religion by the followers. For instance, i cant say that HILTER being a Christian killed millions of jews hence Christianity is not being practiced and whats the use of it. Indeed i cant and will not. I do understand the concern that what is the use if they are not practicing it. If they are not practicing this religion of peace then they are harming themselves. The results speak for themselves.
Just because the idea of gravity was never considered before Newtons theory doesn’t mean it was never there; we had to acknowledge it. Similarly, unless and until Muslim countries realize the benefits that their religion has to offer, they will be miserable like this. THEY HAVE TO COME TO IT.

The answer to that is that the Qur’aan cannot force people to choose the right path, because the Qur’aan is simply guidance (and it is up to people to choose). Allaah has warned us about these sects and groups, and He has forbidden us to imitate the nations who became divided in religious matters. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“and be not of Al-Mushrikoon (the polytheists, idolaters, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allaah).
Of those who split up their religion (i.e. who left the true Islamic Monotheism), and became sects, [i.e. they invented new things in the religion (Bid‘ah), and followed their vain desires], each sect rejoicing in that which is with it”
[al-Room 30:31-32]
“And be not as those who divided and differed among themselves after the clear proofs had come to them. It is they for whom there is an awful torment”

Allaah has commanded them to adhere to His Book and to follow the Sunnah (way, path) of His Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), as He says (interpretation of the meanings):

Thus Allaah makes His Ayaat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.,) clear to you, that you may be guided”

“O you who believe! Make not (a decision) in advance before Allaah and His Messenger, and fear Allaah. Verily, Allaah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing”

i.e., do not say or do anything that goes against the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).
What is meant here is that Allaah forbade the people to split into various groups, and He commanded them to be united, but they followed their own whims and desires, and they cast the Book of Allaah behind their backs, and if they were confused about a verse from the Book of Allaah, they did not refer to the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) in order to understand it, rather they let their own opinion and corrupt reasoning be the judge. All of that is not from the Qur’aan and not from the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

How do we know Islam is the truth?
It is the only religion that:
1- Hold Allah as One, Unique, and Perfect.
2- A lonly worship of Allah, not Jesus, not an idol, and not an angel only Allah.
3- The Quran does not contain contradictions.
4- The Quran contains scientific facts, which are 1300 years ahead of their time. The Quran while revealed 1400 years ago contains scientific facts, which are only now being discovered. It is not in contradiction to science.
5- Allah challenges the world to produce the like of the Quran. And He says they won’t be able to.
6- Prophet Mohammed was the most influential man in History. Even a non-Muslim wrote a book called the 100 most influential men in History, and Prophet Mohammed was #1. Prophet Jesus was #3. Note even Prophet Jesus was a prophet sent by Allah. Would Allah allow a false prophet to be so successful? No. Even the Bible says this in Deuteronomy 18:19. A false prophet would die!!! Yet Prophet Mohammed did not die till he completely conveyed, and taught Allah’s religion.
7- He had many prophecies, and all of his prophecies have come true, or are still coming true.
Most importantly is this:
Allah created us, and we know that we should only worship Him. This is an instinct Allah has created us with. He did not just leave us, rather He sent prophets for us. These prophets had miracles as proof. The miracle for us today is the Quran. There is no other religion that worships only Allah, and believes in Him as totally perfect, and believes in all of His prophets, and scriptures.
Can anyone become a Muslim?
Yes anyone can. There are two declarations, which are necessary:
1- To bear witness that no one deserves to be worship except Allah
2- To bear witness that Prophet Mohammed is the Messenger of Allah.
This makes a person Muslim. But it should be said in Arabic. Next a person takes a shower, and He/She is a Muslim.
Then What?
After a person becomes Muslim he/she is taught about Prayers, Fasting, the Poor due, Pilgrimage. These are pillars of Islam.
Then What?
Muslims are brothers. A Muslim should love for his brother what he loves for himself. Allah’s wealth does not run out, and Allah can provide for us all. We pray for each other, and love each other, and love for our brothers and sisters what we love for ourselves.

@ does it really matter: give me proof that Hitler was a Christian? If Hitler was really a Christian why did he then murder 3 million Christians during the holocaust? But no muslims were killed by Hitler what does this say?

You are right, Muslims and their in-fighting is what is preventing them from successful state. But for Muslims, the point rather is that, it *has* been practised and shown to be practical, at one point. Thus showing us that it is possible to bring a great deal of good to society, particularly if your law system (Islam in this case) favours prevention of the bad stuff rather than band-aiding it when it has gone out of control.
The Treaty of Hudaybiyyah is the best example I can cite. It could really be called a charter of human rights, for what it is. And it did take place, it stayed in place for a few years and was not violated by Muslims but by the Meccans – despite the fact that the conditions of the treaty were disadvantageous to Muslims. But peace was such a precious thing (Arabia had not known peace in over 200 years at the time of the treaty) that just having a treaty was a big achievement itself.
I am a cynic about utopia too, but I still think *most* of our problems are the kind that can go away if we nip them in the bud, as early as possible. Unfortunately that is not such a favourable thing under the current political system of the world. Politicians make money off the fact that the same problems keep coming back. And this won’t go away until the best of us are the leaders of us. But if Muslims keep expecting that ‘Islam’ is some thing out there with a power to changet he world, no, sorry, I am a Muslim and I definitely know that an excellent law written on paper is still an excellent law written on paper. Without the will of a human behind it, it can’t do much.

Young Muslims and particularly new Muslims are making a lot of hange in the way everything thinks about Islam. Believe me, if you heard something positive about Islam, it probably came from a young Muslim (who has shed stupid cultural notions, and follows Islam by adopting only the harmless cultural notions from their native society) or from converts/reverts/new Muslims who are (ANYBODY will admit this) amazing in their faith and practice. They are so eager to learn, to listen, to show patience. Both of these are concentrated in the West (youth in the East haven’t yet shed their cultural notions, such as female circumcision which is *forbidden* in Islam). I have lived in both the East and the West, and I think any change that will come to Muslims in terms of their imperfect practice will come from the West’s Muslims.

The middle east is not fighting each other because of religion, it is nationalism. A result of Britain brilliant plan to divide and conquer the Islamic world. Once you divide a large nation they start to fight over who owns what, and who is better than who. You can’t blame it on the religion because religion had nothing to do with these problems. In fact most Muslims support the Idea of an Uma (a single large coherent Islamic nation) but the political leader’s greed and western fear of Islam taking over the world has hindered the actions needed to make this idea become reality once again.

A True Muslim (man or woman) gets his reward for obeying Allah’s orders (Allah means The God in Arabic) by going to heaven, where he/she are indulged forever in all the good things that were on earth and more, things no one ever dreamt of or heard about. The Holy Quran tells Muslims (men and women) there will be good food, good wine and sex in heaven for all, but not in the bestial way you may think of, but rather in a way that is satisfactory for everyone and better than what was on earth. Heaven is no heartbreak or injustice land.
True Muslims are no terrorists, and Islam never calls for that, Islam means peace, it bans violence unless you were fought so you fight back, it only doesn’t require Muslims to be cowards, and true Muslims understand this very well and never attack civilians.
Islam is the only religion that accepts freedom of religion and asks men to treat women gently like queens.
It’s all in the Holy Quran and the right teachings of prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
If some people behave otherwise, then it’s because people behaviour doesn’t necessarily reflect the rulings of their religion always, for example, we can’t (and don’t) judge Christianity by Hitler or Madonna.
And that is another reason why there is heaven and hell after we die, heaven for the obedient and hell for the disobedient and/or oppressor, it’s all going to be decided on the day of resurrection and judgement.
To be a Muslim, you must believe God is only one with no spouses or offspring, believe in his angels (servants not males or females), believe in all his religions, messangers and books equally, the day of judgement, heaven and hell and that everything is in God’s hands and because of his will (good or bad).
Muslims believe God is the only divine who never dies, the creator who deserves to be worshiped, all prophets who came to earth are human messangers sent by him.
Muslims don’t deny christianity, judaism, Jesus or Moses. They believe in them as the noble prophets and messangers of God, love and respect them so much.
We believe the birth of Jesus (messanger of God) was a miracle from God to us, being born by a mother only and with no father. God is the creator, he can do anything.
We believe Jesus (peace be upon him) is NOT dead till today; he wasn’t even murdered or crucified as most people think. God (most glorified) made the man who betrayed Jesus be killed instead by switching their looks for a moment. Jesus was left up to live in heaven until the end of days when he will come back to earth again, with no new teachings or messages but just to make justice prevail instead of oppression, fight the imposter who will claim to be God and (most important) to perform his last prayer with the Muslims announcing he’s too a follower of the last prophet (Muhammad) as all people should… then he really dies like other Prophets and be buried (peace be upon them all). So we’re waiting for you Jesus, Messenger of God, to bring the world peace and pray with us. That’s what prophet Muhammad told us and this is what I believe in, I’m a Muslim

Sunnis who fight Shiites are following their religion. Since the mid-18th centrury, Saudi Arabia has been influenced by a movement started by Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahhab.
The Wahhabis understood holy war or jihad to be according to Muhammad. This is in contrast to the Sufi Muslims who had interpreted jihad to be an internal holy war to strengthen one’s spiritual self.
This is how Muhammad described a holy war:
Muhammad instructed his followers to kill in the name of Alla, and encouraged them to plunder and divide the booty. (See Koran, Spoils of War, 8:41.) The booty included women and children. (Koran 33:50)
Chapter Immunity in the Koran 9:5.
So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them; surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. The sacred months refers to the treaty with the non-Muslims, see Koran 9:4.
Muhammad’s followers plundered, exiled, enslaved, and beheaded non-Muslims.
After Muhammad died, the Muslims divided into two groups, the Sunnis and the Shiite.
The Wahhabis reasoned that the Shiites held the wrong views on the teachings of Muhammad. According to the Wahhabis, the Shiites are heretics. Therefore they reasoned, holy war should be directed against the Shiites. .
The Shiites not wanting to be massacred by the Sunnis fight back, and attack the Sunnis.
This is why the Islamic countries fight each other and have civil wars all the time. Also note that their are other groups that call themselves Muslims.
Islam also has peaceful teachings, but these are all lifted from the teachings of the Christians and Jews. It is believed he learned of these values from his learned, charitable, and wealthy first wife Khadijah ul-Kubra’. Khadijah lived in Mecca and befriended these groups and was impressed with monotheism.
Note: After Khadijah died, Muhammad left Mecca and went to Medina, and began his campaigns to convert by the sword.
